About the Factory

A raku factory with unique, exceptional characteristics is located in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico

Welcome to the captivating tale of Trate Arte Kuan Concept, where craftsmanship meets innovation to craft exquisite ceramic marvels.

In the year 2000, brothers Juan de Dios and Rafael Sánchez embarked on a shared vision. While Juan de Dios resided in Paris, France, soaking in the artistic ambiance, Rafael held firm ground in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Despite the geographical distance, their unified goal led to the establishment of a ceramic factory in the heart of Cuernavaca.

From its inception, the brothers envisioned a facility tailored for large-format production, equipped with state-of-the-art utilities and infrastructure to cater to global demands. Their endeavor found root in Cuernavaca's industrial district, providing a conducive environment for growth and innovation.

Through unwavering dedication, they meticulously constructed the factory, laying the groundwork for the production of high-temperature ceramics. Yet, Juan de Dios harbored ambitions beyond convention, immersing himself in the intricate art of the Raku technique.

Upon joining forces with Rafael in Cuernavaca, Juan de Dios embarked on a journey of mastery, pushing the boundaries of ceramic artistry. One of the first transformative changes he made was in the very process of forming ceramic pieces. Departing from traditional methods using malleable clay paste, he introduced a moldable approach. This required altering traditional recipes and undertaking a rigorous process of trial and error. Through perseverance, Juan de Dios succeeded in crafting molds and shaping large pieces capable of withstanding the subsequent Raku process.

As Juan de Dios delved deeper into the Raku technique, Rafael, recognizing an opportunity elsewhere, departed the venture to pursue a different career path. Undeterred, Juan de Dios assumed full ownership of the factory, elevating production to new heights.

Today, he stands as a luminary in the field, renowned as the sole ceramist capable of creating Raku pieces towering over two meters. Each masterpiece is a testament to his dedication and skill, with no two pieces alike, ensuring the uniqueness and individuality of every creation.

As demand surged, the factory outgrew its original confines, prompting a relocation within the industrial zone to accommodate expanded operations. Join us on this odyssey of creativity and ingenuity as we continue to redefine the landscape of ceramic craftsmanship. Together, let us celebrate the timeless allure of Trate Arte Kuan Concept.

To run the factory, Trate Arte Kuan Concept has a crew of 10 workers and exports to decorators and art collectors in North America and Europe.
